PostSubject: Re: FAQ: Aeroforce Interceptor Scan Gauge   FAQ: Aeroforce Interceptor Scan Gauge - Page 6 EmptyTue Oct 29, 2013 2:02 pm

On some models the OBD-II doesn't supply enough power, and you have to run the power lead to a switched source. I had to do this in my Riv, but not in my '05 Yukon.

This.
If you look at the main grey wire harness for the gauge, there's 4 wires in it. One of those wires plugs into nothing on your 97 because pre-98 riv's don't have the second bus lead going to the OBDII plug which the aeroforce gauge uses to know when to turn on/off. So you need to use that extra little harness and plug the red lead into a switched power source like ignition and also you need to insert the little jumper. Take a close look at the instruction manual. Aeroforce has a downloadable PDF on the website in case you don't have a physical one.

Everything is right so far! Yes you just use the red wire to hook it up to a power source. We usually use the radio fuse and an Add-a-Fuse thing from an auto parts store. The other two wires are for auxiliary sensors as inputs for the gauge but arent used terribly often.

Oh and remove the jumper that is right next to those plug inputs in the gauge, but it looks like you took it out already.

Yes, they will work, and that's a great deal. Act fast!

You may need to get the gauges reflashed for full functionality with the Buick; it's a small fee, I think $25 per gauge.
