| Midas is jerking me around on the damage. At first the shop owner said he would submit the claim to his insurance company. He asked me to have his insurance company call him so that's what I did. He told my company that he is denying it happened at his shop. It will come down to me taking him to court. And if that doesn't work, I'm going to broadcast the crap they put me through on the net. I have my means here. It's not terrible. Just sucks seeing the gouge and dent everytime I get in the car. The car deserves better than that. The other thing annoying me is the crap CC I got from that digitaldashsolutions place. That guy can kiss my ass. The screen on it is cracked and it dims everyday. Sorry guys. /rant Oh, and the Regal has sat quietly since the bad weather came. It's nice and shiny... almost disturbingly such. | |

| This Midas used to be a Valvoline. My father goes there all the time to get his cars oil-changed. I also would bring my Regal there for inspection. Never had any issues there until now. It's a shame. | |

| Couple more pics. First time I washed it since early December. Still cleans up nice! lol Midas finally said they would cover the cost of dent removal (today). That was a debacle. The owner ignored me so I took the complaint to the CT BBB. Then Midas said I was a "scammer" and obviously was just looking to get some free work done. Ridiculous. Even when the owner conceded to have the dent popped, he said he was admitting no guilt and that he just wanted me to "go away". Midas corporate did absolutely nothing to help. I need to schedule that for next week. I'm going to put that tinted vinyl on the front corners and add a little more VHT/clear on the rear corners and tail light piece. Not sure what else to do with that car aside from try to add the heated passenger seat and controls. Hmmmm.... Oh and I need to repaint the fender arches again because the paint started to peel when the gravel they put on the roads here took its toll. I might get them powdercoated ultimately as I don't think any kind of primer or adhesion promoter will get paint to stick. | |

Rick, What do you mean by powdercoating the "Fender Arches". Are you talking about the plastic inner fender wells ( I didn't think so as they are plastic) so I am a bit confused. Could you please explain. BTW, The car looks great in the pic's and I'm sure it does in person as well. Did you do the wood grain dash or did it come that way, I can't remember.? I'd like to do that to mine as well, looks very nice. Maybe I'll get to see it sometime. How about one of those get togethers at BillBoost's place.?

| Maybe he means the stainless steel trim that lines the wheel openings? _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| I'm talking about those chrome arch pieces that line the outside of the fenders. I want them to be flat black like the rest of my Riv's trim. Thanks for the compliments! Rick-I'm sure I'll see you over at Bill's sometime soon. | |

| I agree with you, the best way to prevent the chipping of paint from the fender trim is to get them Powdercoated in Black gloss or flat black, either is available. I have had a lot of things Podwercoated over the years and has proven more durable than most paints. Although there are much more expensive paints that if applied properly will withstand road rocks and chips. But that is Aviation quality stuff used to paint landing gear that is exposed to all the crap you can throw at it - at about 150 mph or more, during landing. Much more labor intensive preparation and priming than is Powdercoating. I used to be lucky enough to get motorcycle frames painted with this stuff by the guy that did all our landing gear work using "left over" paint. That stuff had such a high gloss and an impenetrable finish. I miss those connections and shops to work out of occasionally. | |

| There's a guy in Mass who did some paintwork on my Regal that says he has access to powdercoating equipment. Said he'd do parts for free. Looks like I might need to get in touch with him. For now, I might just hit those arches with a very light coat of black primer. Should hold up til powdercoating time.

| I completely forgot to address Rick's question about the dash inlay. It wasn't on the car when I got it. I purchased one off ebay and went to town. In hindsite, I'd probably rather have gone with a darker color but the medium wood works okay with tan.

| You want to do mine in the darker wood.??? And I'll have some powdercoat done for you.?
Oh, that's right I forgot. You can get a better deal on powdercoating. FREE.
I'm willing to buy the wood, obviously, I just need someone to do an Extremely Good job of disassembling my dash and installing it.
I'm not capable right now or anywhere in the near future. | |

| Rick-I'd be happy to help you install. We should probably meet up sometime first so you can see it in person. My girlfriend and I took a trip to visit my old alma mater (among other things) in VT. The Riv was clean until it rained and then it looked like a mudball. hahaha Car didn't miss a beat though. Really happy with the way it negotiated the hills on I-91 and I-89. Plenty of power and it was really smooth over some of the worst frost heaves. Still quite pleased with this purchase. Before-Happy Riv in South Royalton: After-Sad Riv in White River Junction: | |

| LOL Travis edit: And, yes, she has legs that don't quit. I put one very light coat of VHT over the headlight capsules and then cleared over that. Previously I had taken the headlights apart and painted all the non-forward facing chrome pieces with a semi gloss black so there's more than one thing you are seeing in my pics. If you have any questions, let me know. I'd be happy to answer any questions you have. | |

| Finished with tinting signal lights and tails project today. Noticed the taillight has two small cracks in it. Trying to fill with clear... will see if I'm able to salvage it. Looks pretty good though. Need to reinstall fenderwell arches up front (primered them black to match the theme). Will probably wash it this weekend. Definitely needs it! The Regal better watch out... I'm starting to like this car more. | |
