| Note from admin:
Before asking questions about how to connect the gauge, how to use it, or its list of features, please visit the Aeroforce web page at the link below and read the manual. Choose the version number closest to the number on the back of your gauge:

I've got a couple questions about the aeroforce guage -
- Does it read engine temp?
- How do you control it ? I'm wondering about replacing the engine temp guage with the Aeroforce guage and keeping the vents, but then the guage wouldn't be physically accessible.

Yes, it reads almost anything a regular scanner reads. It also reads and clears engine codes. It has an option to record performance too (1/4 mile time and hp) but I don't know how accurate it is. You just push the button and it scrolls through the params. I think I have about 25 total. Well worth it IMO.

Yes, 2 of them. You can display two params at once.

| Aaron, did you see the .pdf - Link Maybe you did, since the .pdf doesn't have a full listing either - Quote :
- High intensity LEDs can be used as shift lights or warning lights to indicate when a
selected parameter exceeds an entered threshold. That sounds cool. What about this: - Quote :
- Two user configurable analog inputs
Would it be possible to run an input from the fuel sending unit into one of the analog inputs? Then those of us with nutty fuel sending units could get a NAPA sending unit, configure the Aeroforce guage to read it, and have a functional sending unit again. Then you could get the double guage deal and replace both the temp and gas guages in the dash. If you really wanted to get crazy perhaps you could find a way to rewire the scan guages to be controlled by the steering wheel buttons.

| The Aeroforce gauge I bought has these new options on it:
"Bidirectional controls for GM, Ford, and Chrysler including fan control, CASE re-learn, PCM/TCM reset, and Power Stroke injector buzz and cylinder contribution tests"
What the hell does this mean in English?
Edit....nevermind...they have an on-line manual

| I think you're going to like the Aeroforce gauge. If they had been available back when I bought my scanning software, I would've got the Aeroforce instead. Wouldn've saved me buying a laptop and palm device, plus it's a pretty cool-looking gauge. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| How does this compare with the HP Tuner, can you tune the pcm with it , or does it just display things. To me it seems somewhat pointless unless you can correct through programming. | |

| Aeroforce has no tuning capability, but It's not pointless to scan. You can "tune" by changing SC pulley size, doing mods, etc. Programming the PCM is usually the next step. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

I see your point,I just like the idea better of progressing forward instead of finding that you have to de-mod your car to make it work. For 200.00 more you could make your mod work through programming.I know I'm not adding anything new that everyone doesn't already know , just voicing my goal and my opinion.I would however love to know now even through basic scanning to ensure no damage is occurring.

| I totally understand where you're coming from, and you're absolutely right that by spending a bit more, you going to get the extra capability. The Aeroforce has another useful advantage, though:
It's permanently installed, acting as a gauge and has programmable alarms.
There is a very good chance you will not use your HP Tuners scan software everyday, and even if you did, it's not really safe or smart to monitor using a laptop or PDA while driving. So you have to log instead. The Aeroforce lets you record, but it also lets you monitor real-time. Could warn you of a potential problem days or weeks before you would notice any hard symptoms. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| This weekend I'll be installing my Aeroforce gauge. What parameters should I program for scanning?
I can have up to 8.....Knock Retard and Boost are first on my list, so I need 6 more that I need to choose. Which ones are the important ones that I need to look at?
# RPM # MPH # Intake Air Temperature # Mass Air Flow Sensor Frequency # Mass Air Flow Sensor (lb/min.) # Engine Coolant Temperature # Injector Pulse Width (bank 1 and 2 if supported) # Long Term Fuel Trim (bank 1 and 2 if supported) # Short Term Fuel Trim (bank 1 and 2 if supported) # O2 Sensor Voltage (bank 1 and 2 if supported) # Manifold Pressure in PSI (Boost pressure for factory turbo/supercharger applications) # Ignition Advance # Knock Retard # Engine Run Time # Misfire information # Battery Voltage # Transmission Temperature # Transmission slip speed # Remaining fuel # Throttle Position Percentage # Throttle Position Voltage # Oil temperature # Fuel economy (vehicle must have a MAF) # Fueling status (open or closed loop)

| Can you make different programs for different parameters? Like a "driving" program could have:
1) KR 2) Boost 3) Fuel Economy (if it works) 4) IAT 5) LTFT 6) Current Gear 7) RPM 8) Trans Temp
A "Tuning" program could be:
1) KR 2) LTFT 3) O2 4) A/F 5) MAFF 6) Timing (Ign Adv) 7) IAT 8) RPM
A "Trans" program could be:
1) Trans temp 2) Shift time 3) TCC status 4) Deliv torque 5) Slip speed 6) RPM 7) Current gear 8) MPH
With my AutoTap software, I can select from preprogrammed Config files to scan for different sets of parameters. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

I don't think you can have separate programs with multiple parameters. Thats why I think alot of people put 2, or sometimes 3 of these gauges in their car. I need to read more about it.... But thats a great list you wrote....thanks for the help.

| It really depends on what you are trying to do. For everyday driving, I would want different parameters than if I were scanning/tuning the PCM. Hopefully programming isn't too difficult. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| maybe the thing to do is write the parameters for each of the different programs on a card & put in glove box - so you don't spend time re-figuring parameter sets. Program in the driving parameters, and if you want to tune pull the card and change some parameters?
just a thought.

| For a first scan, I'd go with these:
1) LTFT 2) MAFF 3) O2 4) IAT 5) KR 6) Timing 7) Boost (or MAP)* 8) RPM
*AutoTap does not show boost, but it can be calculated from MAP if you know barometric pressure. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| Installed the aeroforce! Such an awesome gauge!!
Just did a quick scan on a couple parameters until I figure this thing out.....
The P0141 code is now fixed (thanks everybody, points at AlbertJ and BillBoost....plug was not on all the way. Also re-routed those sparkplug wires)
Very little knock under load (1.0 and under with a 3.5" pulley and stock exhaust)
Two things though....
(1) When I bring up the misfire screen it shows misfire on cylinders 1, 4 & 6 at idle and only for a few seconds...then its at zero for all cylinders even at WOT...it seems it only happens at a cold start up....is this normal or something I should be looking at?
(2) Very little knock for a very little time.....you think its safe to drop to a 3.4"??
